 Tyson pronounces his first benediction. The Presbytery wishes to welcome to its membership Tyson Turner of Christ the Word PCA in Toledo, OH. Tyson has attended Christ the Word with his family for some time. He then felt called to the ministry and trained with the pastor's college at CtW. At the last meeting of the Presbytery he sustained his ordination exams and these pictures show his ordination service. We pray that the Lord will abundantly bless his labors as Tyson has been called to serve in a part time capacity at CtW.
The commissioners of the Ohio Presbytery gathered together today at Zion Church in Winesburg, OH to conduct the business of the church. As always the time proved profitable for work and camaraderie. As always, along with the docket items there was a good deal of fellowship and brotherly jocularity!
Those looking to plan ahead for the next couple of presbytery meetings may now do so. The dates and places are as follows.
Presbytery meetings are not only about conducting business. A good deal of time is spent cultivating a greater spirituality. For instance, before our meetings begin, we spend some time in worship. We also pause about midway through our business for an extended season of prayer. Many of our meetings are also closed with prayer and song too. This is a recording of one such instance.

Grace Central Presbyterian Church has put together an app for apple moblile devices. If you happen to miss a Sunday, or if you'd like to tune in to one of the best preachers in our presbytery, all you have to do is download the app to your iphone, ipad, or ipod touch. The app is available in the apple app store and includes streaming of sermons, calendar of events, and location maps.

 Providence Presbyterian Church in Pataskala, Ohio (east of Columbus), initiated a Bible study in Mount Vernon, Ohio. Teacher Sacha Walicord of that congregation was teaching at a university there. He saw no Reformed churches in the area, so with his session’s approval he began a Sunday evening Bible study.
The group grew quickly. Four OPC families who live near Mount Vernon have become part of the work. Two are from Providence Church, and two have come from Covenant Presbyterian Church in Mansfield. In March, the group was received as a mission work of the presbytery and became known as Knox Presbyterian Church. As of July 1, Sacha will focus his labors on ministering to this new group, which numbers about fifty. Larry will be encouraging Sacha and the mission work and serving on the overseeing session.
